NEA Rugby Club
This Spring the Jonesboro Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with the Jonesboro Chiefs RFC, a Men’s Rugby Club to offer Rookie Rugby to the Citizens of Jonesboro.
The Junior Chiefs Rugby Club is a self paid program dedicated to giving children in Northeast Arkansas the chance to participate in the game of Rugby. Rugby is rapidly growing in popularity in the United States, especially here in Northeast Arkansas, and the success of the Arkansas State University Rugby program over the years has brought about a new level of interest in this area.
The Club focuses on a sense of community to grow the program while teaching youth the fundamentals of this great game. Our program currently utilizes Rookie Rugby which is a fun, safe, non-contact version of the sport that helps to develop and teach the necessary skills needed to take the next step to tackle rugby.
Registration is currently underway and the deadline to participate in this spring’s program will be March 27th.
Practice will begin the week of March 30th, with games to be held on Saturdays at Joe Mack Campbell Park.

Target Golf is a team oriented game played at Craighead Forest Park. Teams will compete for points based on their shots on the target.
Instruction designed to provide the beginning golfer and the experienced individual with a comprehensive, easy to understand method, that will bring fun, success and enjoyment to their game of Golf.
This program has a spring and fall registration period. Current registration will run until April 30th, 2023 at 11:59 pm.
Registration for the league is $35 per player. There is a limited number of confidential scholarships available by request.

Memphis is about a white radio DJ who wants to change the world and a black club singer who is ready for her big break. Come along on their incredible journey to the ends of the airwaves– filled with laughter, soaring emotion, and roof-raising rock ‘n’ roll. Join us for a 2 mile EGG-cursion Color Run to benefit the Jonesboro D.A.R.E. program. This EGG-citing event will be held on the walking trail at Central Baptist Church on April 1, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. You will collect an EGG between each color station. All paid participants 12 and under will be eligible for the Easter egg hunt after the run. There will be a few eggs that will have a gift card prize in them. Hotdogs and drinks will be served along with a special appearance by DAREN. BE EGG-xtra CREATIVE! DRESS UP! HAVE FUN! Visit our Jonesboro DARE facebook page for EGG-ditional updates and information. Egg-cessible Easter Egg Hunt hosted by Jonesboro Fraternal Order of Police
Cost is free, but children must be pre-registered for event before deadline: Tuesday March 28, 2023.
This Egg Hunt is specifically for children with special needs. If a sibling wants to come and help then they can, but they will not be allowed to hunt eggs for themselves or receive a basket.
You do not have to be from Jonesboro to register.
Food, snacks, and drinks will be served so please be aware if your child has any food allergies.
The Egg Hunt will begin at 11 am on April 1st so it is recommended to arrive a little early and enjoy the park.
Rain-out date will be Saturday April 8th

Easter Jam is an Easter Celebration for everyone! Invite your friends and family to join us for lots of food and fun. There will be an egg hunt, games, and we will tell the Easter story.

Join us for our Annual Free Community Easter Egg Hunt. We will have an egg hunt for ages birth-4th grade. 5th-8th graders will get to participate in our egg toss and the top winners will get to make a live human peep! We’ll have door prizes for kids and adults. Make sure to join us for the fun!

“Memphis the Musical” is coming to Jonesboro, AR, produced by Center Stage Productions in conjunction with the Arkansas State University Theatre Department. We are so excited about bringing this opportunity to NEA! Come visit us in the Astate Drama Theater, where we will be following a beautiful story inspired by actual events that occurred close to home.
Memphis is about a white radio DJ who wants to change the world and a black club singer who is ready for her big break. Come along on their incredible journey to the ends of the airwaves– filled with laughter, soaring emotion, and roof-raising rock ‘n’ roll. Winner of four 2010 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and two 2015 Olivier Awards, Memphis features a Tony-winning book by Joe DiPietro and a Tony-winning original score with music by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan.

Everyone is welcome to audition. There will be a need for actors, singers, dancers, and the behind-the-scenes tech crew. There will be choreography to learn during the auditions for many roles, please be there at 6:00 sharp if you want to audition for a role that will require dancing.

Our Second Annual Balls of Fury Ping-Pong Tournament benefitting local charitable organizations will take place on April 2nd, 2023.You can sign up at Native or by emailing ellen@nativebrewworks.com
It’s $15 to enter and all of those fees will go into a pool that the WINNER gets to donate to a local non-profit/charity.
We have also selected EIGHT non-profits/charitable organizations in our community to benefit from this event (details on each to come later this week). When you sign up you will choose which one you would donate the money to if you won. All eight non-profits will be represented by a jar in the taproom.
Every time anyone (spectators or participants) orders a b**r the week leading up to the tournament, they will receive a token worth $1 they can put in whichever jar they choose – so essentially a dollar of every b**r is being donated to a local charity, but YOU get to choose which one. We’ve also got prizes for the winners, obviously!
The Out of the Darkness Campus Walks are the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) signature student fundraising series, designed to engage youth and young adults in the fight to prevent suicide, a leading cause of death.

A breastfeeding class that will give you an extensive overview of what to expect while you are in the hospital & education on how to breastfeed your baby to give your infant all the nutrition he or she needs. The clinical experts will discuss any questions or concerns you may have regarding breastfeeding. Spouses, significant others, or family members are welcome to attend.
