The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra with the A-State Choir
April 8, 2025 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Join us as we welcome the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra back to Fowler Center. We are excited that the ASO will be performing a night of fantastic music with our very own A-State Choir!
The A-State Choirs are proud to collaborate with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and Geoff Robinson, Music Director, for three performances of Felix Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. Based on the play by William Shakespeare, the music is written for a large orchestra, vocal soloists, and a chorus of sopranos and altos. “We are thrilled to be partnering with Arkansas’ premiere orchestra and to get to share one of our performances with a home audience in Riceland Hall, a gem performance venue in Northeast Arkansas,” says Dr. Ryan Sullivan, Director of Choral Activities at A-State. Though originally written in German, the performance will be in English. “This work was written to be understood and enjoyed by the people hearing it, so we are sticking to that spirit and singing in English for our large audiences,” explains Sullivan.
